The multilayer system is revolutionary as it prevents noise creation rather than trying to dampen it with roof deck, underlayment or other layers beneath. The presence of a thick plastic compound on the upper side of the steel substrate is a unique feature and grants our panels soundproofing property.

This protective layer absorbs the impact of rain or hail on the metal sheet,  thus avoiding vibration, the cause of the rumbling effect. Ondulit panels are therefore aphonic, thus the only metal roof suitable for buildings where  acoustic comfort  is requested. Moreover the Coverib system features an average sound dampening of 28 dB. The soundproofing property of the multilayer protected steel roof panel is up to 8,41 times higher than an  ordinary metal roofing (comparative sound deadening test).
